Collection and use of personal data of customers, suppliers and other contractors.
We would like to inform you that we collect and use the personal data you supply for to reach and follow an agreement. This holds both for our (potential) customers as for parties from which we purchase goods or services.
If you are a (potential) customer, we use your personal data to send you a rental contract, to determine the specifications and requests that a certain object or service should follow, to deliver goods or work for you, to be able to bill you and to be able to communicate quickly and efficiently about the practical aspects of the agreement.
You are not obligated to share your personal data with us. However, if you do not supply any or sufficient personal data, we might not be able to perform the aforementioned work.
Sharing with third parties
We do not share your personal data with third parties. We do use external server space for the storage of (parts of) our sales and purchases administration, which includes your personal data. Therefore, your personal data will be shared with the provider of our server space. As we use a newsletter service, your personal data will be passed to the provider of this service as well.
If you are a regular customer, we will store the personal data you supplied and use it to inform you personally of our existing and new products and services by email and potentially send you a special offer for them. We have a justified interest for doing this, which is the sale of our products and services. Every time we send you an advertising email, you have the option to unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of the email.
If you are a one-time customer, we will only send you advertising emails if you have given your permission in advance.
Every rented ship comes with a GPS tracking system. This system can be used to determine the location of the ship. Such a system is installed for the insurance of the ship, but also to offer safety and service in case of dangerous weather conditions or to provide help in case of a malfunction, incident or medical problem. Because this does not only give us the location of the ship, but generally also your location, registering the ship’s location is considered processing personal data.
During the rental period the aforementioned system will be activated, as we have a justified interest in that. This also means that the data about your location is shared with the supplier of our tracking system. Immediately after the rental period has ended and the ship has been returned, the GPS data are removed.
Storage period personal data
If you ask for a price offer but did not become a customer, your data will be removed at latest one year after our last contact. If you did become a customer, your data will be kept for seven years after the end of the financial year in which the agreement was acted out. This time period of seven years matches the period that the tax authority (Belastingdienst) requires us to keep the administration. After this period, your personal data will be removed.
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer, tablet or smartphone when visiting our website. Information is stored in these files that can be used by the website at a later visit.
Our website uses tracking cookies if you give your permission for that. We do this to collect information about your search behaviour so that we can make personalised offers for products or services. You can withdraw your permission at any point. Your data is kept for at most a year.
Using analytical cookies allows us to see which pages are visited and which links are clicked within our website. For this we use Google Analytics. The information that Google collects through these cookies is anonymized as much as possible.
You have the right to request checking your own personal data. You can also request supplementing your personal data or modifying it in case of incorrect data. You can also request us to remove your personal data or restrict the usage of your personal data. You can also object to the collection and usage of your data or file a complaint with the Authority Personal Data.
